Essential Oil Information : Jasmine is known as the King of Aromatics. It is a member of a small family known as the Jasminaceae and the oil is extracted from the newly opened flowers by three principal methods – solvent extraction, enfleurage and CO2 extraction. The oil is a deep, mahogany brown with a sweet exotic bouquet.
Oil Properties : It is Reddish Brown transparent liquid with Floral, exotic and warm aroma.
Uses: The oil is used in perfumes and essential oils, as well as food flavorings.
Therapeutic Properties: It has anti-depressant, antiseptic, anti-spasmodic, aphrodisiac, emmenagogue, emollient, galactagogue, sedative and uterine properties.
Blends well with : Almost any other scent, alcohol and often blended with oils such as sandalwood or ylang ylang.
Summary : It is mostly used in Ayurvedic medicine for infections with high fever, conjunctivitis, sunstroke, dermatitis, as well as cancer of the bones, lymphatic nodes and breast cancer.
